Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses Ltd. and its U.S. subsidiary Unimacts have completed the installation of a power transformer in North Carolina, marking the firm’s entry into the American power‑infrastructure market.
The project is intended to support U.S. grid modernization and the rising electricity demand from AI data centres and other high‑intensity loads.
Zetwerk’s Energy vertical generated revenue of ₹6,507.57 crore in FY2026, representing 69.42% of the company’s total manufacturing revenue and showing a year‑on‑year growth of 86.90%.
Industry averages for transformer lead times in the United States range from 36 to 42 months, a bottleneck that has delayed many grid‑expansion projects.
Zetwerk says its integrated manufacturing model, which coordinates suppliers across countries and controls key components such as CRGO steel laminations, cores and coil assemblies, reduces U.S. transformer delivery to 12‑15 months.
During FY2026 the company secured transformer orders worth ₹2,032.25 crore, reflecting strong demand for equipment needed to reinforce electricity networks.
Unimacts offers transformer products across several categories, including medium‑voltage pad‑mounted, dry‑type and inverter‑duty units, with capacities up to 500 MVA and 765 kV built to IEEE C57 standards.
The North Carolina installation is part of Zetwerk’s broader international expansion, which generated ₹2,775.36 crore in revenue from overseas markets in FY2026 and operates 26 facilities worldwide, while Unimacts runs seven sites in the United States.
