President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Warsaw Security Forum that Ukraine is prepared to stop attacks on Russian energy facilities, but Russia has kept striking Ukrainian power plants, including a Kharkiv power station, a gas production site and a civilian gas station.

Zelensky added that his government has refrained from targeting Russian energy sites since President Donald Trump announced the cease‑fire on Sunday and would honour such a pause if Russia also halted its attacks.

The Ukrainian leader expressed doubt that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to respect the agreement, noting recent Russian strikes on Ukrainian gas infrastructure.

President Trump, speaking at the White House, insisted an energy cease‑fire was in place, saying the two sides had agreed after his declaration.

When asked about Russian violations, Trump said there were breaches on both sides and that he would need to review the situation.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to confirm Russia’s participation in a cease‑fire, stating only that contacts were ongoing.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas welcomed the idea of pausing energy strikes on Ukraine but said there was no evidence Russia would honor it.

Zelensky also rejected Trump’s claim that Ukrainian strikes on Russian diesel facilities were driving up fuel prices, attributing price pressures to the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz.
