The Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA) announced a World Bank‑funded project to embed digital literacy and artificial‑intelligence content into Kenya’s Competency‑Based Curriculum through gender‑inclusive strategies.

A tender notice issued on 13 October invites consulting firms to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for a 40‑week assignment that will run from the contract start date.

Eligible firms must be registered as consulting companies with education as their core business for at least five years and must demonstrate technical and managerial capacity in their profile.

Applicants are required to provide proof of prior experience developing AI curricula, including client names, project scope, value and duration of similar assignments.

The consultancy will focus on integrating digital literacy into the CBC using gender‑inclusive approaches, although the specific subjects or grade levels have not yet been disclosed.

Expressions of interest must be submitted by 10 am on 28 October 2026, as stipulated in the tender notice.

The tender follows the Ministry of Education’s AI education rollout in over 10,000 public junior schools launched in July, a move described by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as a key step toward Kenya’s digital future.
