The schedule, issued through the Taita Taveta County Government’s Directorate of Communication and Strategy, allocates specific weeks to each location rather than a continuous supply for all areas.
The first supply window runs from 5 October to 11 October 2026, followed by a second week from 19 October to 25 October 2026.
Subsequent weeks are set for 2 – 8 November, 16 – 22 November and 30 November – 6 December 2026, with the programme continuing through 14 – 20 December, 28 December – 3 January 2027.
The notice does not specify daily supply hours or a date for a return to normal service, leaving households to plan consumption around the listed weeks.
Tavevo Water and Sewerage Company, the bulk water provider, has urged customers to conserve water and store it during the allotted supply periods, especially where storage capacity is limited.
Mzima Springs remains the primary bulk water source for the three areas, but reduced output has forced the rotational arrangement.
The announcement does not disclose the cause of the reduced spring output, the volume of water currently available, or the number of households and businesses affected.
