The Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) has announced a public consultation on proposed water tariff adjustments submitted by three water service providers operating in Makueni, West Pokot and Samburu counties.

Applications for water services retail licences and the tariff revisions were received by WASREB on 6 October 2026 as part of its ongoing tariff review process.

The first meeting will be held on 27 October 2026 at Mbumbuni AIC Church, Mbumbuni Market, Makueni; the second on 28 October 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall of Mercy Centre Vocational Training College, Chepareria Water Scheme, West Pokot; and the third on 29 October 2026 at Ripalat Hotel, Maralal Town, Samburu.

All three sessions will start at 10 am and will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join physically or virtually.

WASREB says the proposed tariffs aim to enable water companies to recover service delivery costs, sustain operations and fund investments to improve water provision in the three counties.

Details of the proposed tariff structures, planned investments and performance targets are posted on the regulator’s website for public review.

The regulator has urged residents to participate before a final determination is made, emphasizing that public input will influence the final tariff approval.
