The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) presented Vivo Energy Kenya with the Highest Throughput Performer Award for the 2025/26 financial year, recognizing its operational excellence in the fuel supply chain.
The award was handed out during KPC’s annual Oil Marketing Company (OMC) awards, which formed part of the 2026 Customer Service Week celebrations.
Vivo Energy Kenya, the marketer of Shell‑branded fuels and lubricants, recorded a throughput of 1.5 billion litres in 2025/26, representing 15 percent of the total volume moved through the national pipeline network.
This marks the fourth year in a row that the company has secured the top‑throughput title, underscoring its consistent use of pipeline infrastructure for reliable distribution.
KPC’s OMC Recognition Awards, now in their fourth edition, aim to honour oil marketers that achieve optimal utilisation of Kenya’s petroleum infrastructure.
During the ceremony, Vivo Energy Kenya’s Business Support and Planning Manager Paul Kamau thanked KPC for the partnership and highlighted the company’s focus on innovation, quality standards and customer experience.
Kamau said the award would motivate further improvements in service delivery, with emphasis on quality, convenience, safety and reliability across Vivo Energy’s network.
KPC Acting Managing Director Pius Mwendwa congratulated Vivo Energy Kenya, noting that higher volumes handled through the pipeline support economic growth, downstream supply chains and national energy security.
As part of the celebration, 100 motorists and boda‑boda operators received free fuel top‑ups at a Shell Adams Arcade activation on Ngong Road, Nairobi, linking pipeline efficiency with direct consumer benefits.
Both KPC and Vivo Energy Kenya affirmed that their partnership will continue to facilitate efficient petroleum product movement to businesses, industries, transport operators and communities across the country.
