The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has made a range of professional development courses accessible at no cost through its T‑Learn learning management system.
Courses are hosted on T‑Learn, a platform that works on smartphones, tablets and computers, allowing teachers to study around their timetables without leaving the classroom.
The catalogue includes Teacher Induction, Mentorship and Coaching (TIMEC), an ICT Integration and AI in Teaching and Learning module, Lesson Observation using the POPI Cycle, and a School‑Based Teacher Support System for Mathematics and Science.
For school administrators, the platform offers induction for Heads of Institutions, Performance Contracting for Heads, and Risk Management programmes that address leadership, accountability and institutional risk handling.
All courses are self‑paced, feature interactive modules, progress tracking and a downloadable certificate upon completion, and are free of tuition fees.
The launch coincides with the government’s decision to waive the Sh6,000 fee for Teacher Professional Development modules and the allocation of Sh900 million in the 2026/27 budget for teacher capacity building.
Teachers wishing to enrol can log in to T‑Learn, browse the available courses, register and monitor their progress through the platform’s dashboard.
