A TikTok user known as @mandy_baby7 uploaded a clip on Nov. 1, 2026 that appears to show the final video call between the user and 15‑year‑old Javits Frimpong, a Ghanaian teenager who was shot while heading to school in the Bronx.

In the footage, Frimpong sits calmly at home while his friend speaks, though the conversation itself was not disclosed; the caption highlighted the emotional significance of the recording.

Frimpong was fatally shot on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, after being chased while on his way to school in the Bronx, according to reports.

The incident sparked widespread public reaction, with viewers of the TikTok video expressing sadness and sharing messages of sympathy.

New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani announced that Frimpong’s mother would be granted an immediate visa to travel to the United States and say goodbye to her son.

The mayor’s announcement came as the family in Ghana faced the challenge of grieving from abroad, and the visa arrangement would enable the mother’s travel to New York.

A memorial vigil was held for Frimpong, during which a Ghanaian teacher at his school addressed bullying concerns and urged parents to listen to children’s reports of problems.
