Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam will meet at Nairobi’s Raila Odinga International Stadium on 5 January 2027, marking the stadium’s inaugural football match.
The 60,000‑seat venue, equipped with VAR, goal‑line technology, a hybrid pitch and 52 sky boxes, is named after former prime minister Raila Odinga and will also host the opening leg of the 2027 HSBC SVNS rugby sevens series.
Ticket sales launch on 5 November 2026 and are sold exclusively through the online portal talantasportscity.com.
Supporters have a two‑month window to purchase tickets before the match, which is expected to attract regional and international attention.
President William Ruto highlighted the fixture as evidence of Kenya’s readiness to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which the country will co‑host with Uganda and Tanzania.
Fans unable to travel can watch the game live on Germany’s ProSieben channel or stream it via FC Bayern TV PLUS.
Bayern’s marketing board member Rouven Kasper described the match as a chance to deepen ties with African supporters, while both clubs are noted for their youth‑development programmes.
