Three people died after a motorcycle and a motor vehicle collided head‑on along Kangundo Road in Nairobi on Saturday night.

Police said the crash occurred at about 9:45 pm on 19 September near a Total petrol station and the PEFA Church.

According to police, the motorcycle was travelling from the Joska direction toward Kamulu when it veered into the opposite lane, striking an oncoming vehicle.

The rider and two pillion passengers sustained fatal injuries, while the driver of the motor vehicle was injured and taken to an unidentified hospital for treatment.

Police officers processed the scene, removed the bodies to the City Mortuary for identification, and have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

The Kangundo Road crash adds to a night in which police reported 15 deaths across separate road accidents.

National data show more than 4,000 people are killed annually in road accidents, with thousands more sustaining serious injuries that affect families and communities.

Authorities have identified hit‑and‑runs, tyre bursts, loss of control, improper overtaking and lane violations as leading causes of fatal crashes.
