On 5 November 2026 TC Energy announced a US$2.2 bn investment in two new pipeline projects – the Crossroads Expansion and the American Midwest project – as part of a broader North‑American growth programme.

The Crossroads Expansion, costing about US$1.8 bn, will add roughly 1.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of capacity in the US Midwest, while the American Midwest project, at US$400 m, will contribute an additional 1 Bcf/d to the Northern Border system.

Combined, the two US projects will increase TC Energy’s transportation capacity by about 2.4 Bcf/d and are slated to enter service in 2030, pending engineering, permitting and construction milestones.

In Canada, the company approved a C$4.9 bn Phase 2 expansion of the Coastal GasLink pipeline in British Columbia, which will add roughly 2 Bcf/d of firm capacity, raising total system capacity to about 4.5 Bcf/d.

Construction of the Canadian expansion is scheduled to start in early 2027, with the new capacity expected to be operational in the early 2030s, following a final investment decision by LNG Canada and its partners.

Both the US and Canadian projects are underpinned by long‑term take‑or‑pay contracts that secure revenue by reserving pipeline capacity for customers in power generation, data‑centre development and LNG export markets.

TC Energy also confirmed optimisation work on its ANR pipeline system as part of the overall growth programme, though cost details were not disclosed.

The company noted that the projects are not yet under construction and will require completion of detailed engineering, procurement and regulatory approvals before ground‑breaking.
