Sun King has added PowerHub solar inverter systems that can deliver up to 30 kilowatts, extending its portfolio from the previous 2.2 kW ceiling and opening the market to larger homes, businesses and institutions.

The new units can be linked in parallel, allowing customers to combine several systems for higher power output as needed.

Sun King says the expanded range can run typical appliances such as water pumps, washing machines, microwaves and air‑conditioners, positioning the kits as a scalable alternative to diesel generators.

Atta Arome, Sun King’s product head for solar inverter systems, noted that the new PowerHub models enable the company to serve “homes, shops, businesses, schools, hospitals, and offices of virtually any size.”

The company, operating in Kenya since 2007, will apply its established flexible payment plans to the larger PowerHub units, with monthly installments starting at KSh15,500 ($120) and a down payment of KSh22,600, though exact terms vary by system size.

Sun King estimates that its products now reach one in five Kenyans and that more than 330,000 solar units are installed each month across Africa, underscoring the scale of its financing model.
