The State Department for Housing has issued a notice inviting companies to bid for the supply, delivery and installation of sanitary ware across multiple affordable‑housing projects in Kenya.
Interested firms must submit applications by 17 November 2026, with tender documents available free of charge on the department’s website and the Public Procurement Information Portal.
The framework agreement will run for up to ten years, during which the government plans to select three to five suppliers to meet the sanitary‑ware needs of its affordable‑housing pipeline.
Successful bidders will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, delivering, installing, testing, commissioning and maintaining the equipment, as well as providing after‑sales service.
The notice clarifies that winning the tender does not guarantee a fixed volume of orders; procurement will be driven by the actual requirements of each housing project, with purchases made either directly at the unit prices submitted or via mini‑competitions involving at least three suppliers for large quantities.
A local‑investment clause requires awarded companies to establish assembly or manufacturing operations in Kenya within two years of contract award.
The tender supports the government’s Affordable Housing Programme, which targets the construction of 200,000 units annually and a cumulative total of one million homes over the next five years.
The ministry notes that several housing projects are already completed and occupied, underscoring the ongoing demand for sanitary‑ware supplies as the programme expands.
