A group of Form 4 students from St Joseph’s Girls Senior School in Kitale handed senior chief principal Dr Rosebella Munzala Orwaru a brand‑new seven‑seater couch shortly before sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

The learners, who call themselves the Royal Zenith Girls, said the couch was a token of gratitude for the personal attention and mentorship Orwaru provided throughout their four‑year secondary education.

According to the students, the principal’s “motherly” care created an environment where they felt seen, supported and confident to pursue their goals.

The Class of 2026 also disclosed that they have set a mean KCSE score target of 8.7, attributing the ambition to the encouragement they received from Orwaru.

Students described the couch as a symbol of thanks for the mentorship, encouragement and consistent support they received throughout secondary school.

The presentation reflects the pupils’ desire to acknowledge the personal impact of their leader before leaving the school, rather than focusing solely on academic results.

The gesture was reported by TUKO.co.ke as a heartfelt reminder that the mark of a great school leader can be measured in gratitude from students as they prepare for national examinations.
