The Social Health Authority (SHA) issued an urgent notice on 28 September 2026 stating that all existing provider contracts will lapse at 11:59 p.m. on 30 September 2026.
Providers have a narrow window – until 1 October 2026 – to complete the full contracting process for the 2026‑2029 cycle, after which they will be barred from the SHA provider portal.
Facilities that do not secure a new agreement will be prohibited from offering services to SHA beneficiaries from 1 October onward.
In addition, the portal access for non‑contracted providers will be deactivated immediately after the deadline passes.
Why the notice matters for patients
SHA directed providers who have not yet finalised contracts to arrange transfers of any ongoing patients to facilities that have completed the new contracting process, aiming to avoid treatment interruptions for beneficiaries.
The authority highlighted that the directive is intended to safeguard continuity of care during the transition to the new contract period.
Steps providers should take
SHA advised providers seeking clarification on the contracting requirements to contact the authority directly via email for guidance.
Facilities also have 90 days to integrate into SHA’s health information system, failing which they risk de‑contracting.
