SBM Bank Kenya announced on 27 October 2026 that it will lend buyers up to 95 % of the purchase price of a new Jetour SUV, with repayment terms of up to 72 months.

The loan is linked to a memorandum of understanding between SBM and Global Motors Centre, the authorised Jetour dealer in Kenya.

Global Motors Centre sells four Jetour models – the Dashing, X70 Plus, T1 and T2 – launched in Kenya in November 2025 with prices from KES 4.9 million for the Dashing to KES 7.8 million for the T2.

Buyers must provide a 5 % deposit, equivalent to KES 245,000 on the Dashing and KES 390,000 on the T2, with SBM covering the remaining balance.

SBM will also finance comprehensive motor insurance, covering damage, theft and third‑party claims, so customers do not need to pay the first year’s premium upfront.

The bank has not disclosed the interest rate, fees, the period over which the insurance premium can be financed, or the length of the MoU with Global Motors Centre.

Earlier in 2026, Absa Bank Kenya announced 100 % financing for Jetour personal vehicles over 72 months, and Equity Bank announced 100 % financing for new Jetour SUVs, though the loan term for Equity was not specified.

None of the three banks have published interest rates for their Jetour loans, leaving the deposit requirement as the only comparable metric for prospective buyers at this stage.

SBM’s profit before tax more than doubled to KES 911 million in the nine months to September 2026, supported by a 29 % rise in customer deposits and a 23 % increase in total loans, indicating strong capacity to fund vehicle financing.

Potential buyers are advised to obtain quotes from all three lenders, compare any disclosed interest rates and fees alongside the deposit requirement, and consider approval speed if they already hold an account with SBM.
