Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ in Kenya, positioning them as successors to the Galaxy Tab S11 series.

The tablets will be on sale from 7 October in Kenya and selected global markets, offered in Gray and Silver finishes.

The Ultra starts at KES 203,200 for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB model and KES 230,300 for the 12 GB + 512 GB variant, while the S12+ is priced from KES 176,000 (12 GB + 256 GB) to KES 203,200 (12 GB + 512 GB).

Both devices are 5.1 mm thin, the thinnest tablets Samsung has produced, and carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Ultra features a 14.6‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel; the S12+ uses a 12.6‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, each delivering up to 1,600 nits peak brightness and Vision Booster tone‑mapping.

Power comes from an unspecified 3 nm processor that Samsung says boosts NPU speed by 61 %, CPU performance by 19 % and GPU capability by 17 % over the previous generation.

Battery capacity supports up to 23 hours of use on the Ultra and 21 hours on the S12+, with 45 W fast charging claimed to fill the battery in about 95 minutes.

Both tablets run Android 17‑based One UI 9, and Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches.

A bundled S Pen stylus is included, while keyboard accessories such as the Pro Keyboard and Book Cover Keyboard Slim are sold separately.

Software perks valued at roughly $600 (about KES 77,500) accompany the devices, including pre‑installed Adobe Photoshop with Firefly AI tools, a four‑month Photoshop trial, and trials for Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Clip Studio Paint and Notion Plus.

A six‑month trial of Google AI Pro also provides day‑one access to Gemini models and Gemini Notebook for content generation.
