Samsung Electronics announced the release of the Galaxy A18 LTE and Galaxy A08 LTE smartphones in Kenya, expanding its budget lineup with enhanced AI features, larger batteries and a six‑year software support promise.

The Galaxy A18 LTE is priced at KSh 32,000 for the 4 GB RAM/128 GB storage variant, while the Galaxy A08 LTE starts at KSh 23,300 for the 4 GB RAM/64 GB model.

Both phones sport 90 Hz displays and 50‑megapixel main cameras; the A18 uses a 6.7‑inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel, whereas the A08 features a 6.7‑inch HD+ PLS LCD screen.

Battery capacity differs between the models, with the A18 equipped with a 5,000 mAh unit and the A08 offering a larger 6,000 mAh battery.

Both devices support 25 W fast charging, IP64 dust‑and‑water protection, and microSD expansion up to 2 TB.

Samsung promises six generations of operating‑system upgrades and six years of security patches for each phone, aiming to keep them usable and secure long after purchase.

The smartphones integrate Samsung’s Circle to Search 3.0, allowing users to search for product details, translate text and trigger actions directly from on‑screen content.

AI assistants Gemini and Perplexity are built into the devices, offering voice‑activated information retrieval and task execution across supported apps.

Security features include Samsung Knox Vault, a hardware‑based system that safeguards passwords and biometric data, while RAM Plus utilizes storage as virtual memory for smoother multitasking.

Higher‑spec variants will be added later in the year, with an 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage A18 priced at KSh 51,600 and a 6 GB RAM/128 GB A08 at KSh 33,100.

The launch positions the A08 as the entry‑level option and the A18 as the higher‑resolution, feature‑rich model within Samsung’s Galaxy A series for Kenyan consumers.
