President William Ruto owns a large‑scale agricultural estate in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County that integrates poultry, dairy, crop and beekeeping activities.
Ruto disclosed that the farm now houses 200,000 chickens, which together produce roughly 150,000 eggs each day.
The first 5,000 birds were sourced from India by First Lady Rachel Ruto, who played a central role in launching the egg‑selling side of the business.
Modern poultry housing and industrial hatching equipment on the property enable large‑volume chick processing and support the continuous supply chain.
In addition to eggs, the farm sells improved chicken breeds, using an on‑site incubator to hatch chicks at scale.
The Sugoi estate also includes dairy operations, with milk supplied to a processing company, and maize fields that provide feed and silage for the cattle herd.
Fruit trees such as mango, avocado and banana are cultivated on the farm, with the president noting that more than five acres of bananas have been planted.
Beekeeping adds another income stream, with around 100 beehives distributed across the property.
During a televised tour, Ruto walked viewers through the poultry facilities and explained how the egg business was established, highlighting the role of his wife in its early stages.
