The same Gazette also confirmed the reappointment of Jane Simita Munka to the KFS Board for three years, effective 14 October 2026, and Metett Kibet Robert to the Kenya Forestry Research Institute Board for three years, effective 9 October 2026.

Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Deborah Barasa announced the board reappointments as part of the Forest Conservation and Management Act framework.

In a separate notice, Ruto reappointed four members to the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council—Francis Habara Moroto, Habon Billow Farah, Joseph Kimutai Boit and Rusiana Makasi Mitau—for three years starting 9 October 2026.

The NEPAD/APRM framework supports governance and development accountability across African Union states, with Kenya’s council overseeing national implementation of the partnership’s programmes.

KFS Chief Conservator of Forests Alex Lemarkoko praised Korir and Munka for their leadership during the previous term, noting their contributions to the Service’s achievements.
