President William Ruto toured Nandi County and launched a suite of development initiatives covering electricity, health, transport, sports and county administration facilities.

In Emgwen Constituency, a Sh351 million Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project was flagged off, targeting the connection of 3,851 households to the national grid.

The electricity rollout is intended to broaden power access for families and businesses, creating new economic opportunities in the region.

At Kapsabet County Referral Hospital, the President opened a Mother and Child Health Complex and laid the foundation stone for a Sh500 million hospital complex that will add 120 beds.

The new block, scheduled for completion in March 2027, will raise the hospital’s total capacity to 670 beds and expand intensive care, high‑dependency, maternity theatres and renal services.

Transport upgrades include the construction of 12 km of new roads within Kapsabet town and the expansion of the Eldoret‑Kapsabet‑Chavakali corridor into a four‑lane highway.

These road works are expected to ease movement, support local commerce and strengthen Kapsabet’s role as an economic hub.

The President also commissioned the new County Government of Nandi headquarters in Kapsabet, a facility aimed at improving county administration and service delivery.

During the visit, Ruto inspected the ongoing construction of Kapsabet Stadium, a 10,000‑seat venue that is 50 percent complete and scheduled for completion by December 2026.

The stadium will include hostels for athletes, supporting training programmes and the development of local sporting talent.

Ruto concluded his tour by joining the Anglican Church of Kenya’s Kapsabet Diocese for its 10th‑anniversary thanksgiving service, underscoring the community dimension of the visit.
