Power Electronics held a groundbreaking ceremony on 24 September 2026 to launch construction of its Houston campus, attended by company executives, local officials and business leaders.
The project occupies more than 53 acres (about 21 hectares) in northwest Houston and will comprise two buildings of roughly 150,000 sq ft and 700,000 sq ft, giving a total floor area of about 850,000 sq ft.
The campus will host logistics, production, electronics manufacturing, research and development, training facilities and corporate offices on a single site.
Power Electronics describes the site as its most automated inverter‑production facility, targeting an annual output capacity of up to 40 GW once fully operational.
The company says the Houston output will serve U.S. demand for solar‑generation, battery‑storage, data‑center, electric‑mobility and industrial‑drive equipment, as well as broader markets across the Americas.
Power Electronics expects the campus to generate more than 400 permanent jobs in the Houston area.
No capital cost, construction timetable, contractor or incentive details have been disclosed, and the 40 GW figure is presented as a full‑capacity target rather than a near‑term forecast.
The Houston campus adds to Power Electronics’ broader expansion plan, which includes a 50 % increase in its Valencia, Spain plant and aims to bring the company’s global annual production capacity to 105 GW.
