Paratus Group announced the expansion of its African operations into Lesotho, targeting businesses and organisations that need reliable connectivity across the kingdom.

The new entity, Paratus Lesotho, will deliver enterprise internet services by combining Starlink low‑Earth‑orbit satellite connectivity with Paratus’s existing network solutions.

Local customer service and technical support will be provided to subscribing businesses throughout the country.

The service is designed to address connectivity gaps caused by Lesotho’s mountainous terrain, which hampers the rollout of conventional fibre and terrestrial networks, especially in remote areas.

Starlink’s satellite technology offers high‑speed, low‑latency internet to locations where fibre is limited or unavailable, providing a viable alternative for underserved sites.

The venture is overseen by Makali Lepholisa, Managing Director of Paratus Lesotho, who brings over two decades of experience in customs modernisation, trade facilitation and stakeholder engagement across Southern Africa.

Lepholisa’s background includes work on national single‑window programmes and regional initiatives with SADC, the World Bank and UNDP, underscoring the partnership’s regional expertise.

Paratus Group will leverage its broader technical expertise and network capabilities to support organisations operating in areas where dependable internet infrastructure remains a challenge.

The Lesotho launch adds another market to Paratus’s growing footprint across Africa as it expands telecommunications and satellite connectivity offerings continent‑wide.
