NCBA is launching its PropertyDuka digital marketplace in Nakuru and Naivasha, aiming to broaden the bank’s reach beyond Nairobi and deepen its role across the property value chain.

The platform, described as East Africa’s first AI‑powered property digital marketplace, connects prospective homeowners and investors with developers and real‑estate professionals.

Since its launch, PropertyDuka’s active user count has risen sharply from 4,500 in September to more than 625,000 at present.

The marketplace now lists 216 properties and has generated 148 applications for NCBA financial products and 95 new account‑opening requests.

Customer engagement trends show strong interest in property financing, advisory services and home‑set‑up solutions, positioning PropertyDuka as a comprehensive home‑ownership ecosystem.

According to the February 2026 Nakuru County Housing Status Report, more than 70 % of urban households in Nakuru rent their homes, highlighting demand for platforms that link renters, buyers and developers.

Dennis Njau, Group Director of Retail Banking at NCBA Group, said the rollout reflects the bank’s purpose to “bank on belief and empower ambitions” by giving local developers greater visibility and simplifying property discovery for consumers.

Njau added that NCBA will pair the marketplace with its property financing solutions, helping developers grow and enabling home‑buyers and investors to secure the credit needed to complete purchases.

The engagement also aimed to strengthen partnerships with regional property players, encouraging more developers and agencies to list on PropertyDuka and expanding the range of available listings.

NCBA says the expansion will support local businesses across the property chain and help more Kenyans move toward homeownership and property investment.
