NCBA convened a regional pre‑departure briefing for more than 100 SME customers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda ahead of its 2026 China Market Linkage & Business Exposure Programme.
The immersion will run for 12 days, from 13 to 24 October 2026, in Beijing and Guangzhou, offering market intelligence, practical business insights and networking opportunities.
This is the first time NCBA has combined customers from its four East African markets into a single regional business exposure initiative.
Participants will tour manufacturing, agribusiness, electronics, construction, automotive, consumer goods, renewable energy and technology hubs, and attend the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, one of the world’s largest trade exhibitions.
Structured B2B networking, visits to industrial parks and wholesale markets are planned to help firms identify new suppliers, partners and export opportunities.
NCBA will back participants with its suite of trade finance, working capital, asset finance, commercial lending, foreign exchange, treasury and transaction banking services to turn identified opportunities into sustainable growth.
Dennis Njau, Group Director of Retail Banking at NCBA, said the programme reflects the bank’s commitment to provide more than financing, giving businesses access to knowledge, technology, markets and partnerships.
The initiative aligns with Kenya’s effort to rebalance its trade deficit with China, estimated at over KSh500 billion, by encouraging firms to explore China as an export destination under the Kenya‑China Early Harvest Agreement, which offers duty‑free access to about 98.2 % of Chinese tariff lines.
By bringing together business leaders from the four countries, NCBA also aims to strengthen intra‑African networks, promote knowledge sharing and support regional value‑chain development.
