The Nairobi Securities Exchange announced that the suspension of NCBA Group Plc shares, which began after the close of trading on 21 Oct 2026, was lifted on 3 Nov 2026.
Despite the lift, the exchange said trading will be temporarily halted on the same day to enable a block trade through the NSE Block Trade Board, facilitating the transfer of roughly 66 % of NCBA’s issued ordinary shares to Nedbank Group Limited.
Nedbank’s offer to acquire the 66 % stake became unconditional in all respects, prompting the block‑trade arrangement to ensure an orderly completion and settlement of the transaction.
The temporary halt will remain in effect until the block trade is executed; trading will resume once the process is completed.
The earlier suspension also covered futures contracts based on NCBA shares on the NSE Derivatives Market and was set to run until the close of trading on 2 Nov 2026.
The suspension was intended to allow time for reconciling NCBA’s share register and implementing the acquisition, with the exchange indicating that, pending reconciliation, both shares and related futures would restart on 3 Nov 2026.
Following the block‑trade completion, NCBA Group Plc will remain listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
