The National Land Commission (NLC) issued fresh compulsory acquisition notices for the Nairobi‑Naivasha Standard Gauge Railway Phase 2A and several road and water projects, as published in the Kenya Gazette on 25 September.

The notices cover parcels in Kajiado, Kiambu, Nyeri and Migori counties and require landowners to attend commission inquiries and submit written compensation claims.

Project‑specific parcels and inquiry schedules

For the SGR Phase 2A, three parcels in Kajiado County – two in Ngong and one in Kitengela – are slated for supplementary acquisition, with an inquiry on 19 November at the Scheme 6 Kandisi Chief’s Office.

In Kiambu, the Gatiiguru‑Ithanga‑Gakungu and Gakungu‑Kamahuha‑Mbombo road project adds several parcels, and an inquiry will be held on 26 November at the Kirimiri Chief’s Office.

Nyeri’s Mukurweni‑Ini‑Gakonya road project includes an additional parcel after a correction, with its inquiry scheduled for 22 October at Upper Hill Chambers in Nairobi.

Migori’s Toku Bridge and approach roads project lists a 1.1925‑hectare parcel among the new acquisitions, with an inquiry on 16 November at the Kitere Chief’s Office.

The Gatundu Water Supply and Sewerage Project in Kiambu adds two parcels for the sewerage component, with an inquiry on 26 November at the Juja Town Chief’s Office.

Steps owners must take

Affected owners should bring identification, land ownership records and bank details, and submit written compensation claims either before or on the day of their scheduled inquiry.
