The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 conference and exhibition will be held in Dakar from December 1 to 3, introducing a dedicated Investment Track aimed at deepening capital engagement across West Africa’s energy sector.
The core of the Investment Track is a Ministerial Leadership & Global Capital Roundtable where energy ministers will discuss regional cooperation, regulatory alignment and coordinated infrastructure to boost investment flows.
The roundtable is expected to focus on policy and financing frameworks, including Mauritania’s 2025 reform, fiscal incentives and regulatory clarity needed to unlock large‑scale projects.
For the first time at the MSGBC event, a Project Development Clinic will offer a small‑group advisory format where developers, government officials and investors can address technical challenges and financing bottlenecks.
The clinic aims to improve project structuring, resolve financing obstacles and move projects closer to final investment decisions.
Structured Business‑to‑Business matchmaking sessions will connect investors, operators, service companies and public‑sector bodies across the energy value chain to explore co‑investment opportunities.
The track reflects a broader shift in the MSGBC basin toward investment‑led growth, with Senegal’s APIX and COS‑PETROGAZ partnership cited as a model for improving the business environment for energy projects.
Petrosen’s Yakaar‑Teranga gas project, targeting a final investment decision in December 2026, will be highlighted as a key opportunity for investors at the Investment Track.
Sandra Jeque, Events and Project Director at Energy Capital & Power, says the Investment Track is designed to move beyond dialogue and facilitate concrete deals by bringing decision‑makers together.
