Githurai police are probing the death of an unidentified middle‑aged man who was stabbed during a dispute over a mobile phone.
The incident occurred at about 12.30 am on Saturday, 3 October 2026, close to Eriwa Medical Centre in Githurai Sub‑County, Kiambu County.
According to the medical centre’s owner, two men were seen walking beside the facility while arguing before the confrontation escalated into a fight.
Police say one of the men demanded a mobile phone from the other, drew a knife and stabbed his counterpart in the abdomen before fleeing the scene.
Responding officers found the victim’s body lying outside the medical centre with a deep abdominal wound; he bled to death despite the severity of the injury.
A Redmi mobile phone was recovered at the scene and taken as an exhibit, while the alleged murder weapon was not located.
The Crime Scene Investigation team documented the area before the body was transferred to the Nairobi City County Funeral Home for preservation pending identification and a post‑mortem examination.
Police have launched efforts to trace and arrest the suspect involved in the stabbing.
