Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital has issued a public warning that its name, logo and identity are being used by individuals and groups to solicit donations without the hospital’s approval.

In a formal notice, the Nairobi City County health facility told the public to verify any fundraising appeal through its official communication channels before sending money.

The hospital said it has become aware of unauthorised requests that could mislead donors and potentially misuse the institution’s reputation.

The notice states that the hospital does not endorse, nor accept responsibility for, any fundraising appeal made in its name without prior written authorisation from management.

Potential contributors are urged to contact the hospital directly – via phone 0701697674, email [email protected], or its website – to confirm the legitimacy of any appeal before making a payment.

The hospital also advises the public to avoid sending money to unverified individuals, groups or accounts that claim to be collecting funds on its behalf.

Anyone who encounters a suspicious fundraising request is asked to report it to the hospital through its designated contacts.

Finally, the hospital clarifies that any person or organisation wishing to raise funds for the facility must first obtain formal written approval from its management before making any public appeal.
