LOOP, a Kenyan digital banking app regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya, introduced LOOP BIZ+ on 29 October 2026 as a single‑sign‑up bundle for small and medium enterprises.
The package combines a QR‑code till, a card‑payment device (PDQ), an AI‑powered inventory tool, a sales dashboard, a merchant listing in the LOOP consumer app and three business‑loan products, all managed from one account.
The QR‑code till requires no hardware and can be activated within minutes, allowing payments via LOOP, M‑Pay or Airtel Money.
The PDQ card machine accepts Visa, Mastercard, contactless taps and mobile‑money payments, settles funds to any Kenyan bank account and is ready in 24‑48 hours; the same checkout works in the app and on the web.
LOOP’s inventory tool tracks stock levels, forecasts demand, suggests reorder quantities and flags slow‑moving items each morning; it is live on the web platform now and will reach the mobile app in 2027.
Three loan products are offered: an overdraft of KES 1,000‑500,000 renewed monthly, a quick loan of KES 1,000‑500,000 for 1‑30 days and a term loan up to KES 3 million over 3‑36 months, all assessed automatically from sales data after 90 days of activity.
Fees disclosed in LOOP’s September 2026 tariff guide include a 6‑8 % facility fee on quick loans (e.g., a KES 10,000 loan costs KES 600‑800), a 2 % fee plus interest from a 15.9 % base rate on overdrafts, and a KES 300 ledger fee per account.
Mobile‑money payments processed through the PDQ via STK push incur a 0.5 % merchant charge; card‑payment fees and PDQ rental costs have not been published by LOOP.
LOOP also offers a “credit gamification” feature where merchants set a target credit limit and track progress, currently available only in the app.
The service aims at shops already using M‑Pay that want to add card acceptance without buying separate hardware, though merchants are advised to clarify PDQ pricing, card fees and the frequency of the KES 300 ledger charge before signing up.
