Linda Okello, the former Kenyan traffic officer who went viral in 2014, has quietly built a property and business portfolio that spans Kenya and the United States.

In Kenya she owns a two‑storey, six‑bedroom mansion with servants’ quarters and a separate bungalow she built for her parents in Homa Bay, the latter featuring a wheelchair‑accessible ramp.

Okello says the mansion cost roughly KSh 7 million, partly financed through loans, to give her a permanent, rent‑free base in Kenya.

She also holds two plots in the hilly Riat area of Kisumu County overlooking Lake Victoria, which she describes as a potential retirement site that could benefit her daughter, Avril.

In Mombasa, Okello previously invested in an apartment in the Buxton neighbourhood and plans to develop a three‑bedroom villa with views.

Across the Atlantic, she owns two residential properties in South Carolina: a white, single‑storey home with a porch and a two‑storey house bought in March 2024 that features a double‑door garage and a manicured lawn.

After acquiring the second South Carolina house, Okello joined the Landlord Association of South Carolina and announced intentions to rent the property for additional income.

She runs a car‑hire business in South Carolina and aims to expand the fleet to about five vehicles as a source of passive income.

Okello graduated from Arizona State University and works as a private behavioural therapist, complementing her investment activities.

Earlier estimates placed her net worth at roughly KSh 40 million, with the majority of assets located in the United States.
