The K‑Lifestyle in Kenya Showcase was held at Village Market in Nairobi on Saturday, 3 October 2026, attracting more than 1,500 attendees.
Organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Kenya and KOTRA Nairobi, the exhibition featured over 30 Korean companies across food, beauty and electronics sectors.
Among the exhibitors were Samsung and LG, both already operating in Kenya through local branches or distribution arrangements.
The showcase combined consumer experiences with structured business matchmaking, resulting in more than 200 recorded B2B and distributor engagements.
Ambassador Hyung‑sik Kang highlighted the event as a sign of the evolving relationship between South Korea and Kenya.
Principal Secretary John Tanui linked Korea’s relevance to Kenya’s industrial and technological trajectory, underscoring the broader trade context.
Bilateral merchandise trade between the two countries was valued at roughly US$226 million in 2025, a 6 % rise from the previous year.
KOTRA Nairobi, the commercial arm of the Korean Embassy, offers market‑entry services such as buyer verification, B2B meetings and trade delegations to assist Korean firms entering Kenya.
For companies with limited exposure to the Kenyan market, the event provided direct consumer contact and insights into distribution channels, pricing and preferences.
The K‑Lifestyle format expands on the 2023 K‑Food Day, which attracted over 700 visitors and focused solely on cuisine, by adding K‑Beauty and K‑Electronics and emphasizing commercial linkages.
KOTRA Nairobi plans to continue supporting Korean entrants and anticipates a future edition of the K‑Lifestyle showcase to build on the momentum generated in 2026.
