Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Minister Musalia Mudavadi confirmed Kenya’s participation in the third Russia‑Africa Summit, scheduled for 28‑29 October 2026 in Moscow, after meeting Russian Ambassador Vsevolod Tkachenko at the ministry headquarters.

Mudavadi said Kenya will focus on expanding trade, attracting investment and strengthening strategic partnerships with Russia and other African nations, with an emphasis on economic development, diplomatic training and cultural exchange.

The government aims to open new markets for Kenyan businesses, deepen economic ties and create opportunities for young innovators, according to the minister’s statement on his X account.

Discussions will also cover cooperation in energy, food security and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, reflecting Kenya’s priority to diversify its international economic partnerships.

The accompanying Russia‑Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum will provide a platform for governments, private‑sector players and other stakeholders to explore mutually beneficial partnerships.

Kenya’s participation aligns with broader efforts to diversify economic partnerships, expand market access for local products and attract investment that supports job creation and sustainable growth.

The summit follows previous Russia‑Africa meetings held in Sochi in 2019 and St Petersburg in 2023, where Kenya was represented by former President Uhuru Kenyatta and later by Ambassador Benson Ogutu respectively.
