The Kenya School of Government (KSG) disclosed plans to establish the Raila Amolo Odinga Regional Leadership and Governance Academy in tribute to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

A notice dated Tuesday, 13 October 2026, states that the academy will be formally inaugurated at a ceremony where Ida Odinga will serve as chief guest.

The institution will focus on training public servants, enhancing leadership capabilities and improving governance across Kenya and other African nations.

Programmes will include modules on artificial intelligence, public sector accountability, crisis management and policy development.

A digital repository will be created to document Raila Odinga’s political and public‑service legacy, featuring a Knowledge Management Hub, e‑Museum, library and public service museum.

The Chandaria Foundation, led by businessman Manu Chandaria, will sponsor a dedicated wing and innovation hub within the academy.

KSG also plans a governance laboratory where officials will engage in AI‑driven simulated exercises covering economic crises, cyber threats, climate emergencies and public unrest.

Digital‑skills training will cover AI, cybersecurity and data management to help public servants adapt to evolving technology in service delivery.

Additional initiatives include leadership assessments, mental‑health programmes for public servants, research units offering policy recommendations, and community‑based training for residents outside formal institutions.

The notice did not disclose the academy’s exact opening date, construction cost or projected enrolment numbers for its first year.

KSG expects to collaborate with government agencies and international partners to develop curricula and conduct governance research.
