Kenya Power announced that on Wednesday, 7 October, planned power interruptions will affect eight counties, with outages running between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. depending on the area.

In Nairobi, customers in parts of Runda – including Runda Drive, Mimosa Road, Mimosa Vale, Runda Vale, Runda Park and Ruaka Groove – will lose supply from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; adjacent customers are also affected.

A second Nairobi zone, part of Kamae, will experience the same 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. outage, covering Imela Homes, Tapaz Lounge, 277 Lounge and Saa Mbaya.

Trans Nzoia County’s interruption will affect Aturukan, Kibomet, Mwaita, Perekera and Tuigoin from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with specific sites such as Aturukan HT, Mt Elgot Dairies and Kibomet Primary School listed.

Kisumu County customers around Daraja Mbili Market, Koyango Market and Daraja Mbili Village will be without power during the same 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. window.

Nyeri County will see two separate cuts: one from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. affecting Mathari Hospital, Outspan Medical College and nearby markets; another from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. covering Ihwagi, Ragati Tea Factory and a list of schools and markets.

In Murang’a County, the outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will hit Kihumbuini and Mukurwe, including Mukurwe Primary School and nearby markets.

Embu County’s scheduled cut runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. across Karurumo, Ishiara and Kanyuambora, affecting schools, markets and villages such as Kamumu and Gwakaithi Primary School.

Kitui County customers around Maliku, Kavisuni, Kanyangi and Kanyongonyo markets will lose power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Garissa County’s interruption, also from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will affect Sumeya, 17KR Modika and Maua Millers, together with nearby farms and markets.
