Kenya Power announced that on Wednesday, 30 September, it will carry out scheduled power interruptions across eight counties.

In Nairobi, four zones will lose supply between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.: parts of Riverside Drive and Riverside Gardens, Mzima Springs Road, Tende Drive, Riverside Lane and Strathmore High School; and a second zone covering Raphta Road, Lantana Road, Consolata Church and nearby estates.

Additional Nairobi customers such as the German Embassy, Uganda High Commission, Serena Hotel and surrounding businesses will also be affected during the same 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. window.

Kakamega County’s Khayega area will be without power from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting Iguhu Hospital, Makhokho Secondary School and several local villages.

Kisumu County will see outages in Tido and Cibo from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Tido Primary School, Mbeme Primary School, Ooko Market and the White Coal Kibos Industries plant.

In Homa Bay, the Yala Kotieno area will be cut off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Yala Kotieno Secondary School, Kalanding Secondary School and the Ong’amo Dispensary among the affected sites.

Migori County’s Kehancha and Ntimaru towns will face interruptions from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., covering a broad list of neighborhoods and the Angatta Sugar complex.

Nyeri County’s Miiri and Kiangai zones will lose power from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting markets, coffee factories and schools, while the Major Seminary area will be out from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Embu County will experience outages in Gachoka, Meka, Muraru and Rwika from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting Embu Airstrip, Don Bosco school and several local markets.

Kitui County’s Kangweni, Nzangathi and Kanzauwu areas will be without electricity from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting residential estates and nearby customers.
