The bulletin lists 31 counties expected to receive rain, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, coastal areas near Mombasa, and a broad swathe of eastern, central, Rift Valley, western and Nyanza counties.
Rain intensity will vary, with some areas seeing light showers, others experiencing thunderstorms or light‑to‑moderate showers, interspersed with partly cloudy skies and sunny intervals during the day.
Strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (about 12.5 m/s) are forecast for parts of Marsabit and Turkana during the same 24‑hour window.
The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry released the forecast at 3 p.m., urging residents in flood‑prone zones, farmers, outdoor workers and long‑distance travellers to factor the weather into their plans.
Temperature ranges differ across the counties, with cooler highs in highland areas such as Nyandarua and Nyeri and warmer readings in lowland regions like Turkana and Tana River.
