The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA) issued a five‑day weather outlook covering all 47 counties, effective from Thursday 1 October to Monday 5 October 2026.

Overall, the outlook calls for light to moderate rainfall in several counties, while many northern and western counties are expected to remain dry for most of the period.

In Nairobi, sunny intervals are forecast for Thursday and Friday, followed by light rain on Saturday morning and moderate afternoon showers on both Saturday and Sunday; temperatures will swing between a low of 12 °C on Thursday and a high of 28 °C, easing to 24 °C by Monday.

The Mt Kenya zone – Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a and Kiambu – is slated for moderate nighttime showers over the weekend, while Meru and Tharaka‑Nithi will see light to moderate rain from Saturday, with Meru experiencing moderate showers on Saturday night and again on Monday.

In the north‑eastern region, Mandera will record the highest temperatures, peaking at 37 °C on Thursday and easing to 34 °C by Monday; Wajir and Garissa will stay dry Thursday‑Friday before light rain develops from Saturday.

Rift Valley counties such as Nakuru, Laikipia, Baringo and Kajiado are forecast to have light showers from Saturday or Sunday, whereas Narok will remain largely dry throughout the five‑day period.

Western Kenya – Kisumu, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Bungoma and Migori – will be dry for most of the week, with afternoon light showers expected from Sunday onward.

Nyandarua is projected to record some of the coolest minimum temperatures nationally, dropping to 5 °C on Thursday night.

Turkana will stay dry throughout the forecast period, with sunny intervals dominating and temperatures reaching up to 38 °C on Sunday and Monday.
