The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA) published a daily forecast on 13 October 2026, covering the period from 9 p.m. that evening to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
Rainfall is expected in 18 counties spanning the western, central, northeastern and coastal zones of the country.
The western and Rift Valley counties listed include Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Nandi and West Pokot.
In the Nyanza region, Siaya, Kericho, Kisii and Nyamira are among those forecast to receive rain, together with Nakuru, Nyandarua and Meru in the central and Mount Kenya area.
Garissa and Wajir in the northeast, as well as Lamu on the coast, also feature on the rainfall list.
Separate from the rain, KMSA warned that strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) are forecast for parts of Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Garissa, Isiolo, Mombasa, Kilifi and Tana River counties.
The wind advisory applies to residents engaged in outdoor activities such as fishing, transport and open‑air trade, who are urged to exercise caution.
The forecast reflects active weather systems during Kenya’s October short‑rain season, affecting the country from the far north to the coast.
