The Kenya Meteorological Department issued a 24‑hour forecast covering Sunday night, 9 pm on Oct 4, through Monday evening, 9 pm on Oct 5, indicating largely settled conditions across most of the country with notable exceptions in the far north.
Marsabit is forecast to receive light showers and thunderstorms in isolated spots, with a peak temperature of 26 °C.
Isiolo is projected to reach 33 °C, while Meru, Tharaka‑Nithi and Embu are each expected to hit highs of 27 °C to 28 °C.
In the eastern region, Kitui and Makueni are forecast for highs of 31 °C and 32 °C under partly cloudy skies throughout the day.
Nairobi’s outlook calls for partly cloudy mornings, a mix of clouds and sun in the afternoon, and clear sunny intervals in the evening, with a high of 27 °C and an overnight low of 16 °C.
Rift Valley counties Nakuru, Narok and Kajiado are each projected to reach 28 °C, while Kericho is expected to be the coolest at 26 °C.
Counties bordering Lake Victoria have a slightly higher chance of rain; Kisumu may see light showers in the morning that continue into the afternoon, and Siaya and Bungoma are also flagged for possible light rain later in the day.
In the western and Nyanza zones, Kakamega and Migori are projected to reach the highest temperatures at 31 °C and 32 °C respectively, while Nyamira remains cooler at 27 °C; Busia’s maximum is also forecast at 32 °C with a chance of light afternoon rain.
