Kenya has opened its second pilot investment promotion office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, expanding the country's overseas footprint for attracting foreign direct investment.
The Kenya Investment Authority (InvestKenya) said the Jeddah office is intended to provide a direct commercial gateway for Saudi businesses and institutional investors to access Kenyan opportunities, working alongside Kenya's embassy in Riyadh and its consulate in Jeddah.
InvestKenya described the move as part of a strategy to establish dedicated investment offices in high‑value FDI jurisdictions, bringing promotion activities closer to global capital sources.
The Jeddah hub builds on lessons from InvestKenya's first pilot office in Hangzhou, China, and is positioned as the next step toward a broader network of Kenyan investment centres across priority markets, especially in the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
The Kenya Investment and Information Centre (KIIC) operating in Jeddah will offer advisory services, inter‑agency coordination and direct matchmaking between vetted Kenyan ventures and Saudi investors.
InvestKenya highlighted Jeddah's location on the Red Sea as an ideal gateway for Saudi firms seeking to expand into Kenya, East Africa and the wider continent.
The office is expected to leverage existing diplomatic and economic ties between Nairobi and Riyadh, deepening bilateral trade and positioning Kenya as a preferred gateway to Africa.
