A Kenya Hajj Mission team travelled to Saudi Arabia to attend the sixth International Hajj and Umrah Expo in Jeddah, which runs from 5 November to 11 November, after receiving an invitation from Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr Tawfiq Al‑Rabiah.

Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) National Chairman and Kenya Hajj Mission President Hassan Ole Naado confirmed that the delegation proceeded with the visit despite precautionary Ebola‑related travel restrictions imposed by several countries, including Saudi Arabia.

During the trip the team is expected to sign a bilateral Hajj agreement that will set a framework for cooperation and coordination between Kenya and Saudi Arabia ahead of the upcoming pilgrimage season.

The prospective agreement aims to streamline preparations for Kenyan pilgrims, covering travel logistics, accommodation, transport and other services required for the journey to Makkah.

Hassan Ole Naado said the visit is intended to strengthen the long‑standing ties between Kenya and Saudi Arabia and to help ensure a safe, smooth and spiritually fulfilling Hajj for all Kenyan pilgrims.

The Jeddah expo, organised by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, brings together stakeholders from across the pilgrimage ecosystem and continues until 11 November.
