Kenya will host the third KenGen Sustainable Energy Conference from November 24 to 27 at Olkaria, Naivasha, targeting the financing and partnership challenges that hinder Africa’s renewable‑energy rollout.

Organised by Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen), the event expects more than 1,500 participants representing over 80 nations.

The agenda aims to attract at least 200 investors, 40 financing institutions, 100 utilities and power producers, and 100 exhibitors, creating a marketplace for project developers and capital providers.

The conference theme, “Powering Africa’s Green Industrial Revolution,” will focus on commercial applications of clean power, underscoring how reliable, affordable electricity influences business decisions on expansion and competitiveness.

KenGen Managing Director Eng. Kibet Ronoh said the event is designed to shift dialogue from opportunity to execution, inviting investors, financiers, utilities, developers and corporates to unlock tangible projects.

Key discussion tracks will cover investment mobilisation, project development, strategic partnerships and carbon‑trading mechanisms, bringing together government officials, regulators, development finance institutions and corporate buyers of clean electricity.

Holding the summit at Olkaria—Kenya’s geothermal hub—allows delegates to tour a world‑class renewable‑energy operation and explore the KenGen Green Energy Park, a facility aimed at attracting industries seeking reliable renewable power.

Eng. Ronoh highlighted that visitors will see how strategic investments have driven growth in Olkaria and how the Green Energy Park can create new opportunities for enterprises requiring stable renewable electricity.
