The third edition of the Kazi Majuu Tournament is set for 3 October 2026 at Kianjai Primary School in Tigania West, Meru County.

Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Kathure Njogu will patron the event, which is themed “Mashinani to Majuu: Local Talent, Global Opportunities”.

Football will be the main attraction, while community sessions will provide information on migration, employment and diaspora programmes.

The tournament is part of the Diaspora Mashinani initiative, which brings migration and overseas‑labour discussions to local communities.

Through the Kazi Majuu programme, Kenyan workers can access verified overseas opportunities in sectors such as healthcare, education, engineering, transport and seasonal agriculture.

The Diaspora Placement Agency will support participants by supplying labour‑market data, linking them with foreign employers and assisting with documentation and pre‑departure requirements.

Organisers say the outreach aims to promote safer migration by reducing reliance on unregulated recruiters and encouraging formal channels for overseas work.

Earlier editions, including the inaugural competition in Buuri Constituency in June, attracted more than 60 teams and combined sport with information on government programmes.

At the Meru event, organisers will combine the football tournament with information sessions on overseas employment and migration programmes, bringing the Diaspora Mashinani and Kazi Majuu initiatives directly to the community.
