Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka addressed a crowd in Bondo, Siaya County on Sunday, acknowledging his long presence in Kenyan politics while rejecting President William Ruto’s claim that his tenure has been unproductive.

Musyoka said he has indeed been active for about 40 years, but emphasized that he has not been involved in the violent acts that Ruto alleges other leaders have committed.

He highlighted his collaboration with the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, noting that their partnership was based on a shared belief in the rule of law.

Ruto’s criticism focused on a rural road in Tseikuru, accusing Musyoka of failing to improve it over four decades and claiming recent repairs are the result of Ruto’s own efforts.

The exchange comes as Musyoka’s Wiper Patriotic Front positions him as a potential United Opposition flag‑bearer for the 2027 presidential race, though the opposition has not yet settled on a single candidate.
