Jubilee Group announced that Juan Cazcarra will assume the chief executive role on 1 December 2026, succeeding retiring CEO Kipng’etich who led the group since 1 January 2018.
Cazcarra joined Jubilee in July 2021 as chief operating officer, became deputy group CEO in April 2025, and has overseen finance, operations, risk and digital transformation initiatives.
The board, chaired by Zul Abdul, said Cazcarra’s two‑decade insurance background and familiarity with Jubilee’s ambitions make him well placed to lead the next growth phase.
Jubilee’s recent financial results provide a strong platform: net profit rose 18 % to KSh5.55 billion in FY 2025 and a further 13 % to KSh3.45 billion in H1 2026, with total assets of KSh272.7 billion.
The group’s strategic shift, begun under Kipng’etich, includes selling majority stakes in general insurance to Allianz in 2020, relocating headquarters to Upper Hill in 2025 and expanding investments in projects such as Uganda’s Bujagali hydropower and SEACOM fibre‑optic network.
Digital initiatives remain a priority: Jubilee partnered with FSD Africa in July 2026 to create affordable insurance for underserved Kenyans, involving seven insurtech firms that work on embedded insurance, AI‑driven underwriting and climate data.
A separate collaboration with bolttech aims to extend digital distribution of health insurance, using technology for onboarding, premium collection and claims processing.
Cazcarra will oversee execution of these digital and operational priorities across Jubilee’s regional businesses, which serve more than 1.4 million customers in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi.
His immediate agenda includes sustaining profit growth, strengthening regional operations and deepening technology‑led insurance access for individuals and SMEs.
