Java House has launched a new branch in Buruburu, one of Nairobi’s oldest residential neighbourhoods, extending its dining and coffee offering to local residents, commuters and families across Eastlands.
The outlet sits at the junction of Jogoo Road and Rabai Road, a major transport artery that links the eastern part of the city to routes such as Kangundo Road and the Outer Ring Road.
Java House Group CEO Priscilla Gathungu said the branch responds to the growing demand in Buruburu, where residents now expect city‑centre quality and convenience closer to home.
Gathungu added that the location will serve not only the Buruburu community but also commuters travelling between Eastlands neighbourhoods and other parts of Nairobi, providing a convenient meeting point for families and travellers.
The branch is housed within a TotalEnergies service station and continues Java House’s tradition of commissioning artwork that reflects the character of each neighbourhood.
Murals at the Buruburu outlet depict local landmarks such as the Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts, the iconic number 58 matatus, Makadara Railway Station and the historic Mutindwa Market.
Gathungu highlighted the outlet’s role in celebrating Buruburu’s cultural contributions, noting the area’s influence on Kenya’s art and music scenes through institutions like BIFA and the famed matatus.
The Rabai Road site marks Java House’s 114th outlet in East Africa, underscoring the brand’s continued regional expansion.
