Police have detained Shon David Rabassa Kioko, the husband of the deceased, and Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian farmhand, while detectives continue probing the killing of 34‑year‑old Farida Peter Sangka in Entarakuet, Isinya, Kajiado County.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says preliminary findings indicate Deo helped bury Sangka’s body after Kioko instructed him to do so on Saturday, 24 October.
Deo allegedly complied with the order and later confided in a friend, who recorded a statement with detectives and advised Deo to report the matter to police.
On 27 October, Kioko visited Isinya Police Station with his son, reporting his wife missing and presenting her photograph to officers.
The following day, Deo reported the incident at Kiserian Police Station, prompting police to locate Sangka’s body in a shallow grave on the farm.
Detectives recovered the remains in the presence of a pathologist, Ministry of Health officials and police, then transferred the body to Nairobi Funeral Home for preservation pending a post‑mortem examination.
While Deo’s report led to the discovery of the body, the DCI stressed that his involvement in concealing the corpse does not exempt him from legal accountability.
Both Kioko and Deo remain in police custody as investigations into the circumstances of Sangka’s death continue.
The DCI reiterated that reporting crime is a civic duty, but individuals who participated in the offence or its concealment will face due process under the law.
