Former Baringo County Senator Gideon Towet Moi has reported that the original land grant for his property in Kitale Municipality, Trans‑Nzoia District, cannot be located, prompting the Lands Registry to commence a replacement procedure.

The Gazette Notice dated 2 October 2026 records that Moi is the registered proprietor of land described as L.R. No. 2116/1054, granted under I.R. 53898/1, and that sufficient evidence has been presented to confirm the original grant is lost.

Under the Land Registration Act, the Registrar of Titles will issue a provisional certificate after the 60‑day period expires, provided no objections are received during that time.

The 60‑day objection window runs from 2 October, the date the Gazette notice was published, giving members of the public a clear deadline to raise any challenges to the proposed replacement.

If no objections are lodged, the Registrar will proceed to issue the provisional certificate, finalising the replacement of the missing title deed.

The notice is one of four Gazette entries released on the same day concerning related parcels, reflecting a routine administrative response to lost land documents rather than any dispute over ownership.
